I have a sewing confession to make: I hate buttonholes. While my machine has an automatic button hole foot, sometimes things go awry, and picking out those tiny stitches gives me a neck-ache. Which leads me to my new snap obsession! Snaps are quick and easy to install, and lend a professional look to many projects and garments.
In this video, I demonstrate how to install them using my KAM snap press. If you’re looking for a tutorial on how to install these snaps using a hammer, you can find that video HERE.
I used the following tools in this video:
- Pearl fashion snaps (size 16)
- KAM DK93 Snap press
- Size 16 open ring snap dies
- Size 20 plastic snap die (bottom piece)
I did NOT have the fashion snap dies, so I made these pieces work, and they worked out quite well. If you have this press, you can also order the fashion dies on the KAM website, but I wanted to make it work with what I had. Regardless of the size of snaps you’re using, this video is a great introduction for how to install fashion snaps with your press.
