Quilted Oakley Vest for Stripes Month!

Is winter stilling hanging on where you live? I heard the ground hog came out and saw his shadow, so we’re all in for at least six more weeks of “official” winter weather- which means more time to sew up some of my favorite winter patters (see? I’m looking on the bright side, even if the little fellow didn’t).

I pattern tested the Love Notions Oakley vest a few months ago, and loved it (check out that post here)- vests are perfect for winter layering, and transition well between seasons. For this rendition, I chose a heavier quilted fabric from Style Maker Fabrics– it was stable, and really easy to work with- a perfect chance to play with the direction of the stripes, as I’ve seen on many ready-to-wear vests.

Keep reading about it over on the Sewcialist blog, where I’m guest posting today as a part of Stripes Month! They’ve got all sorts of inspiration posts and tutorials, and I’m honored to be included!
