Birthday Post!
It’s my birthday, so of course I had to commemorate it with a post about some selfish sewing I’ve been doing lately! While my dream day would involve lounging on a tropical island with a mai tai, lounging around the house drinking coffee in new me-made duds are a close second, so here we go!
The tee is a Green Tee (free with the code in the pinned post of the Greenstyle Facebook Group), sized up once, in an amazing “cherry blossom” bamboo spandex from The Fabric Fairy.
I was a little anxious at first about the color- I love wearing pastel pink, but the shade has to be just right, or you look, well, naked. That’s not the kind of “birthday suit” I was going for, but fortunately, I think my summer tan darkens my skin just enough to make it presentable!
The joggers are the Caritas, also in Fabric Fairy bamboo (made before here), but this time a french terry that’s super soft, and has excellent recovery. After we took these photos, I wore them for another two days in a row (thanks to that dark olive color that hides all the coffee stains!) and they didn’t bag out at all, which is usually a problem with my joggers, especially in the knees.
I used a wider waistband so I could fold it yoga style, and didn’t even bother to put in a drawstring this time- that’s how much of a hurry I was in to get them in the rotation! Pro tip: Use a reverse coverstitch for the pockets- it makes it super easy to follow the contour of the pocket without a zillion pins!
I know, I know, joggers and a tee, nothing you haven’t seen around here a dozen times, but that’s because it’s a perfect combo, and pretty much my perfect birthday uniform! If I didn’t have to work today (insert hysterical crying here), I’d still be wearing them….
For my Birthday treat, I used to have Kahlua Cream pie, but it’s no longer available at our local restaurant, so I had the apple pear butter I shared in my last post instead! It was delicious and guilt free!
Note: If you want to get me a present, just subscribe to my blog here. I promise it will make me feel as good as a big ol’ wrapped gift (shameless birthday self promotion, sorry!)
Happy birthday, Sarah! I really enjoy your posts.
Greetings, Elke
