A (last minute) Break from Christmas Sewing…

Merry Christmas Eve, friends! I hope this holiday season finds you happy and well, and not too stressed out by last minute shopping and sewing!

If you’re still in procrastination mode, or need some selfish sewing to look forward to after you finish all those gifts, read on!

I’ve been hustling like crazy to make matching pajamas for the family this week (stay tuned for those soon!), but I took a little break from all those elastic waistbands and quartered necklines to stitch up this new activewear set, using the Greenstyle Inspires and Power Bra.

I waxed on for days about my love for the Inspires during Favorites Week, and since I’m now on my fifth Power Bra (see my review here), it’s no secret that it’s another go-to pattern in my stash.

When I can combine the two its a perfect synergy, and saves tons of $$ over what you’d expect to pay somewhere like Lululemon- with much better fit and quality.

This gorgeous floral seriously had my jaw on the floor when I opened the package from So Sew English– printed performance fabrics are few and far between, and the dark, secret garden vibe of this one had me rushing to get it through the washer and onto my cutting table. Right now I only see this on the site as bundles- so you’d better snap it up while you can!

I used the same pre-made silicone bra strapping from my previous bras (I’ll have a post up soon about sourcing all the bra supplies in time for our January Sew-Along), which made the construction really quick and painless. The strappy cross back view is still my favorite, and I had a good time pairing this set with my Midway Bomber Jacket from last year. I think the striped ribbing and floral print go well together, don’t you?

Also included in my performance bundle from So Sew English were some great heathered knits and solids, which will fit perfectly with my plans for a new spring athletic capsule (check out my previous capsules here, here and here– seems like I’m kind of addicted to sewing these- #sorrynotsorry!)

I’ve got some great new fitness goals in mind, and having new pieces to wear always makes it easier to hop off the couch and lace up my sneakers.

What about you- what are your goals for self-care in the new year? Maybe we can help motivate each other!

Give me a follow on Facebook and Instagram, and I’ll follow you back!

Love that print!! And you look awesome in it! My goal for 2019 is to run a couple half marathons and have fun (not just survive)!

Thats an awesome goal! I haven’t run a half since my daughter was born, but I’ve started running more and really think it might be a possibility for me this year too!
