More Moxi’s!

Surprise Surprise! I made more Moxi’s!

During testing the others testers kept sewing up all this gorgeous floral scuba, turning me a little green with envy (not a very flattering look for me). I knew I would have to make up a pair as soon as I could source it, and lucky for me, the Fab Clique had just stocked some beautiful dark navy floral. I’m a total sucker for dark florals (see evidence here and here), and I couldn’t resist snapping some up (read: begging Dhee to send it to me) and making my floral Moxi’s a reality!

The weight of the scuba is just right for this pattern- sturdy but not too thick. It paired well with the white FOE I already had in my stash (see more about supplies here). Matching the binding material to the type of main fabric is critical in getting a nice finish on this pattern, so I was very pleased with the weight of this fabric. Using FOE made the job of binding quick and painless- just be sure to keep a little tension on the FOE as you go. For the waistband, I used a thick yoga knit from my stash- and omitted the elastic in the waist. While I find it important for running, these are more of an everyday pair, and won’t get used for exercise, so the extra insurance that they will stay put during a workout wasn’t needed.

I’ll add these to my growing pile of Moxi shorts…I think I’m up to 7 pairs now (see my previous Moxis here and a swim version here, with a more thorough review of the pattern)! Of course, there’s always room for more….

Grab your pattern here (if I haven’t already talked you into it!) and your fabric here! Don’t forget that you can enter to win the #cutsewwearthefab contest on Facebook! Just sew up some fabulous Fab Clique fabric, share it with the #cutsewwearthefab and enter your screenshot into the thread on the Fab Clique page! Every week, a winner will be chosen to win an adorable sewing machine bracelet (which I totally forgot to wear for this photoshoot, but adore)!
