Chelsea Pants Week: Day 3

Are you sick of Chelsea pants week yet? You can’t possibly be, because I have still have more looks to share and I’m still O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D with this pattern! (Did you miss Day 1 and Day 2? Check them out and then come back!)

Today’s look is more casual than yesterday, more of an everyday look. That suits me just fine, since I’m usually running errands and mom-ing around, and sometimes I want an outfit that doesn’t freak me out when the kids smear it with (washable!) paint or brownie mix – both true stories!

I used navy stretch cord from Joanns fabrics for this version, and it had just the right amount of give to make them super comfy but still hold the structured shape of the leg. I did learn the hard way NOT to iron corduroy on the right side of the fabric, so there is a faint iron mark on the front that I’m hoping will fade in the next wash.

I also finished the seams on the front before sewing them together, so I could press them open and sew two lines of top stitching down the front, and I really like how this looks.

The back pockets are super cute, though not big enough to hold my phone securely, so  I might look into making the largest size pocket next time. Momma’s gotta have that phone handy for capturing those cute baby moments, right?

I’m wearing these with my favorite Union St. V Neck Tee in Vinegar and Honey rayon spandex, which is a looser fit than the Green Tee and also amazing. The Union Street just got an update, so I’m curious to try it out and see how it compares to my original favorite fit! My necklace is from Grayc Glass, and my belt and earrings are from Target.
