Raglan Sew-Along: Day 2

Welcome back to the Raglan SewAlong!

Yesterday we selected our supplies, decided on our options, and cut out our fabric, so today we’re ready for the fun stuff: sewing! Raglans are a pretty quick garment, so today’s post will be brief, but that’s also a great opportunity to add a little something extra to your top if you have time. Check out the Pinterest board for inspiration here.

If you’re up to your ears in holiday commitments, a basic pullover is great as well!

Grab your pattern!

The Raglan patterns and add-on packs are on sale through today for this event, no code needed!

Find the Men’s Hudson Pullover on SALE here!

The Women’s Centerfield Raglan is here!

The Women’s Plus Size Raglan is here!

The Add On Pack (for the Centerfield) is here! (works for both plus size and standard versions)

If you’ve never downloaded or purchased a Greenstyle pattern, you can find a tutorial on how to do that here.

The Schedule

Day 1: Supplies, Sizing and Cutting

Day 2: Front/back sleeve seams (YOU ARE HERE)

Day 3: Neckband/hood/cowl

Day 4: Hems/Bands

Day 5: Hacks/Finishing

Each day, I’ll post a video and/or blog tutorial with that day’s tasks, and you can comment with any questions and your progress for that day, so we can all keep each other motivated.

At the end, I’ll be choosing a winner for a fun PRIZE! (and who doesn’t love prizes?!)

Sound awesome? It is! (check out my other Sew Alongs HERE on the blog)

Today’s Tasks: Sewing the Sleeve and Side Seams

Today we are sewing the sleeve and side seams on our shirts.

If you’re sewing the men’s pullover, and want to add the Kangaroo pocket, front pocket, or the front zipper, you’ll want to do that first, before sewing your sleeve and side seams. If you’re sewing the women’s Centerfield and want to add the elbow patches or ruching, you’ll want to do that first as well.

I’ll be adding a video tomorrow for the front zipper, but feel free to ask any questions today if you have them! I do find washaway wonder tape indispensable for installing zippers and positioning pockets- so make sure to pick some up and make your life easier!

Let’s get started!

Thanks for sewing along- see you back here tomorrow!
